BREAKING: Gov. Ivey issues mandatory mask law
Gov. Kay Ivey announced a mandatory mask law for Alabama beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday and extending through the end of July.
Ivey said the law includes a $500 fine and posible jail time.
During her morning news conference, she said 2,140 new COVID-19 cases had occurred in the last 24 hours in Alabama.
Thus far, the staet has 58,225 cases and 1,183 deaths, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.
