Final round of wintry mix could bring 2-4 inches today
Prepare for what forecasters say should be the final push of wintry precipitation before thing start clearing and warming up.
There is a 60% chance of snow showers before 5 p.m. today, followed by a 100% chance of snow showers, freezing rain and sleet tonight, according to the National Weather Service office in Huntsville.
By the time it is finished Thursday morning, the Shoals will have received 2 to 4 inches of accumulation, according to the forecast.
There is a 40% chance of a wintry mix Thursday morning, but that will be followed by rain showers as temperatures reach aove freezing, the forecast states.
That will begin the melting process, but lows in the teens Thursday night will result in some refreezing.
