Hunter Jackson enjoys results of Stuff the Bus

More than 3,000 gifts were collected in the Stuff the Bus project.

FLORENCE – After spending two weeks in a Florence City Schools bus, 101.5 FM’s morning show host Hunter Jackson enjoyed a rewarding scene today.
Jackson joined volunteers and Florence City Schools officials in unloading the bus, which was stuffed with more than 3,000 Christmas gifts as part of the Stuff the Bus project.
He spent two weeks inside the bus at a Florence Walmart, living there until the goal of 3,000 gifts was met at about 5 p.m. Friday.
“Outstanding,” Jackson said, while seeing present after present being unloaded. “This is something special.”
The gifts were taken into a large central room at the Richards Center, where they were divided up, with them going to students in the Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Colbert County and Lauderdale County school systems.
“I’m gonna cry here in a little bit, I know,” Jackson said, clearly moved by the scene after spending 319 hours on the bus.
“It has been a hard time resting,” he said. “I keep thinking I’m still on the bus and about to get a knock on the door.”
Jackson already is contemplating upping the ante next year.
“I’m wanting to set the goal next year to 5,000,” he said.
