MONTGOMERY - Parole will be considered Wednesday for a man serving four life sentences on Lauderdale County convictions including the 1985 stabbing death of an infant, authorities said.
The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles will consider parole for Otto Gardner Jr., officials said.
Gardner was convicted of murder in the infant's death and two counts of attempted murder in the stabbings of the infant's mother and another man, according to court records. He also was convicted of first-degree burglary in the case because he snuck into the home through the attic.
Gardner received a life sentence for each of the four convictions, to be served consecutively.
He is in the Hamilton Aged and Infirmed correctional facility, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
According to court records, he fatally stabbed 18-month-old Yanorse Jackson, and stabbed the infant's mother, Mary Jackson, and Jerry McCord. The 18-month-old was stabbed twice in the chest and once in teh abdomen.
Gardner used a steak knife in the attacks, according to records.
Jackson was Gardner's ex-girlfriend, according to court records.
